This is a Silver Age copy of DC Showcase 11 from 1957 featuring the 3^rd appearance of the Challengers Of The Unknown. It was written by Dave Wood, with cover and pencil art by the great Jack Kirby, inked by Bruno Premiani (of Doom Patrol fame). In this issue, the Challs head to Antarctica to investigate a pair of missing scientists. Once there, they learn that the scientists stumbled upon an alien invasion that threatens all life native to Earth. The comic is in solid condition, with the cover and centerfold firmly attached. The cover does show multiple creases with color breaks, significant surface dirt and dust shadows on the back cover, and a small chip out of the spine, as well as edge wear and rounded corners. Colors remain nice and bright on the front cover, particularly the yellow of the alien’s spacesuit. Interior pages have tanned to a cream color, but panel colors remain nice and vibrant.
